Surfactant Removal from Mesoporous Silica Shell of Core-Shell Magnetic Microspheres by Modified Supercritical CO2
In this paper, a kind of core–shell magnetic mesoporous microspheres of Fe3O4@SiO2@meso-SiO2 with high surface areawas prepared, where magnetic Fe3O4 nanospheres were used as the inner core, tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as silica source, and cetyltrimethylamonium bromide (CTAB) as pore forming agent. Methanol-enhanced s...
متن کاملElectrosprayed core-shell microspheres for protein delivery.
This communication describes a single-step electrospraying technique that generates core-shell microspheres (CSMs) with encapsulated protein as the core and an amphiphilic biodegradable polymer as the shell. The protein release profiles of the electrosprayed CSMs showed steady release kinetics over 3 weeks without a significant initial burst.
متن کاملSurface modification of PLGA microspheres.
Microspheres made of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) are biocompatible and biodegradable, rendering them a promising tool in the context of drug delivery. However, nonspecific adsorption of plasma proteins on PLGA micro- and nanospheres is a main limitation of drug targeting. Poly(L-lysine)-g-poly(ethylene glycol) (PLL-g-PEG), physisorbed on flat metal oxide surfaces, has previously been s...
متن کاملCeria/silicon carbide core–shell materials prepared by miniemulsion technique
For the first time we present the synthesis of CeO(2)/Si(O)C core-shell particles prepared by the miniemulsion technique. The Si(O)C core was obtained by means of a polycarbosilane precursor (SMP10), which was subsequently functionalized with ceria and pyrolyzed to the ceramic. The size of these particles could easily be adjusted by varying the surfactants and the surfactant concentration, or b...
متن کاملIn situ preparation and protein delivery of silicate-alginate composite microspheres with core-shell structure.
The efficient loading and sustained release of proteins from bioactive microspheres remain a significant challenge. In this study, we have developed bioactive microspheres which can be loaded with protein and then have a controlled rate of protein release into a surrounding medium. This was achieved by preparing a bioactive microsphere system with core-shell structure, combining a calcium silic...
